Gallery d’Arte, 548 West
28th Street, Suite 328, NY City is pleased to announce
On-Line by Sungsoo Park. The show will run from July
28 - August 9, 2016, with an opening reception on Thursday, July 28 from
6-8pm.
In this exhibition, Sungsoon Park presents “On-Line,” which has
two meanings, the first meaning being the Internet network that represents the
invisible world beyond the screen. The second meaning lies with the work of art
that is created by lines. This exhibition also presents “Landscape,” a series of
invisible Internet network scenes as shown in the painting. He adds a
rectangular screen inside the big frame and fills it with lines and surfaces
using spray. The rectangular screen symbolizes the computer monitor or the
screen of electronic devices, and the spray exhibits the mix of countless
images, photos, information, and so on that we encounter via various media.
Hence the artworks try to visualize the landscape of the image of our
contemporary life of the digital world beyond the image of nature
itself.
